Protest for Right to Information act in India

Right to Information act is in more than seventy world countries including India. Experts accepts that the Indian constitution is the one of the best among the world countries. It was certified by the United Nation Development Plan (UNDP).

It's the second independence for the Indian people. It was a product of citizens who brought this by the non - violence method. It was a sequence of protestors from the Rajasthan people who led by the Arun Roy in 1997.It was the first attempted to brought the Right to Information act in India by the group of Rajasthan people.

In 1990, Rajasthan Government was witnessed for the corruption, especially among the rekief camp of drought hit areas. So a commission was appointed by the Mazdoor Kissan Sakthi Sangathan (MKSS) organization. It gave a report to the Rajasthan government. It proved some of the government officials and agents were all in under scam if irrigation. Commission showed that it is a right of people to give the information about the government. And it's a duty of government to share the Information to people.

Noble leaders like Aruna Roy and Sakan Singh from the MKSS movement lead the Rajasthan people to protest for the Right to Information act. MKSS organisation against the Rajasthan government with the whole India. Strikes of MKSS extended more than 60 days in whole India. "Do or Die" a principle of Mahatma Gandhiji motivated the MKSS movement. In the April of 1997, Rajasthan government accepted the proposal by the compulsion of people.

Then the MKSS extended this rule to Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Goa, Maharastra; Delhi and through out the states of India. Due to the toiling efforts of MKSS, they founded the National Campaign People for Right to Information (NCPRI). Along with various organisations like human rights joined the hands of NCPI. RTI passed to the parliment in the 2002 and it sucessfully comes as a consitution of India in 2005 in October 12 is the celebration of RTI act!

In my point of view, even though The Right to Information is implemented in the whole India, It fails to reach the main objective. Because only 8% of people have been using the Right to Information act successfully against corruption. The reason of the failure is most of the people in India unaware about the RTI. Only educated people using the RTI against the corruption. However, this Right to Information act is powerless in front of the authenticate government agency or High politician. This is also a one of the reason why the literacy people don’t want to use the RTI against everyone. Therefore we conclude, that the RTI has been facing failure against the government. In fact, it is useful to know the information of government and its plans. This is a major reasons to form the Lokpal act against corruption.

There’s always a solution to a problem!!! If one citizen of our country raise a question against government or any person, there will be a lot of probability to fail the chances of getting the answer from them. But what if the whole nation raise a question against government??? They should answer to the question isn’t??? Yeah, this is the solution of this problem. Every Indian citizen should use the RTI against corruption. Unless we should create unity, the RTI will not be effective against in this country. If we unity no one cannot deny us!!! Let’s create Unity among us!!!
